Description
Tributyl phosphate is a colorless, odorless liquid in appearance. It can be dissolved in ethanol and other common organic solvents, slightly soluble in water, and its solubility in water is 7% (25℃), but it will gradually hydrolyze as the temperature rises.
Usage
Tributyl phosphate is used as a fixed liquid for gas chromatography (maximum use temperature: 120 ℃, solvent is ether) to extract cobalt, iridium, manganese, molybdenum, palladium, rhodium, nickel, uranium and tungsten, and colorimetrically determine molybdenum. Tributyl phosphate has a good polymerization inhibition effect on acrylates, methacrylates, acrylic acid, acrylonitrile, styrene, butadiene, and its polymerization inhibition performance is better than phenols. Tributyl phosphate is used as an extractant for metal complexes, the main plasticizer of nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, chlorinated rubber and polyvinyl chloride. It is also commonly used as a solvent and defoamer for coatings, adhesives and ink , Heat exchange medium, antistatic agent, rare earth element extractant.
