Description

Padimate O, also known as omnirad EHA, octyl dimethyl PABA, ethylhexyl dimethyl PABA, trade name Escalol 507, is a good ultraviolet absorber in the UVB region, and the ultraviolet maximum absorption peak is 311 nm (ethanol solution). As an excellent anti-ultraviolet additive, padimate O is widely used in water-resistant sunscreen cosmetics abroad, including isoamyl p-dimethylaminobenzoate (IADB) and isooctyl p-dimethylaminobenzoate (photo initiator EHA) The latter is a good ultraviolet absorber in the UVB area. As a sunscreen, it is widely used internationally. The US FDA lists it as the first recommended sunscreen.

Omnirad EHA is a class of highly effective amine accelerators. It is used with free radical (II) photoinitiators, mainly used for UV curing of varnish coating systems on paper, wood, metal and plastic surfaces. Omnirad EHA can also be used alone or in combination. The monomer's ultraviolet radiation polymerization reaction is also a good sensitizer. It is often used in combination with thia anthrone photoinitiators and acetophenone photoinitiators, which can promote photoinitiation and effectively eliminate oxygen Interference effect on photo-initiated polymerization.

In addition, padimate O can also be used as a preservative. Methyl paradimethylaminobenzoate, propyl paradimethylaminobenzoate, n-butyl paradimethylaminobenzoate, and their solutions all have antiseptic effects.
