Description
Flame retardant TDCPP, also known as Fyrol FR 2, Emulsion 212, Tris(1,3-dichloro-2-propyl)phosphate, is an additive type organic phosphorus flame retardant, which has the characteristics of low volatility, good durability, good oil resistance and hydrolysis resistance, and high thermal stability. Flame retardant TDCPP is widely used in soft and rigid polyurethane foam, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, nitro lacquer, acetate fiber paint, polyvinyl chloride, epoxy resin, phenolic resin, unsaturated polyester resin, polyester Fiber and rubber. Flame retardant TDCPP is also the most ideal composite flame retardant for polyurethane soft foams (sponges). At the same time, it can increase the viscosity and composite strength of polyurethane soft foams. In addition, flame retardant TDCPP is also the raw material for manufacturing flame retardant cables, tarpaulins, rubber and rubber-plastic conveyor belts. In addition to the self-extinguishing properties of the obtained product, they also have properties such as light resistance, water resistance, and antistatic. In addition, flame retardant TDCPP can also be used as an emulsifier and anti-explosion agent for heat transfer oil, lubricating oil and gasoline, and a chemical high boiling point solvent.
Solubility
Flame retardant TDCPP is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and chloroform. It is insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Flame retardant effect
Flame retardant TDCPP is generally added in soft and rigid polyurethane foam in an amount of 10-15%, and the flame retardant effect is better than flame retardant TCEP.
The added amount in polyvinyl chloride is 10%, and the product can be self-extinguished in 1 second.
The added amount in the polyester fiber finishing agent is 5%, and the product can be self-extinguished by impregnation.
Application area
Flame retardant TDCPP is more used in the automotive industry and furniture. Its use is similar to flame retardant TCPP, but because it is more expensive, it is generally used in situations that require more effective flame retardant. A 2003-2009 study in the United States reported that the most commonly detected flame retardant TDCPP (detected in 15 of 26 samples) in foam samples collected from 26 furniture was 1% to 5 %.
