Description

Flame retardant TCPP, also known as Amgard TMCP, Tris(1-chloro-2-propyl) phosphate, Tris(1-chloropropan-2-yl) phosphate, Hostaflam OP 820, HSDB 8112, is a low cost additive flame retardant. Flame retardant TCPP accounts for 80% of all phosphorous chloride-based flame retardants used in Europe, and it is the most important chlorinated OPFRs in Europe in terms of usage. Flame retardant TCPP is often used as an alternative to flame retardant TCEP. Because it contains both phosphorus and chlorine, it has a significant flame retardant effect, and has properties such as plasticization, moisture resistance, and antistatic. Flame retardant TCPP has good thermal stability, excellent hydrolytic stability, low viscosity, and good compatibility with materials such as polyurethane.

Usage

Flame retardant TCPP is mainly used in polyurethane foam, generally used in polyurethane rigid foam and PIR rigid foam, especially suitable for ASTM84 (II), and also used in polyurethane flexible foam. It is not durable when used for polyurethane soft foam, but it will not cause scorch of the foam.

In addition, flame retardant TCPP is also used in cyclochloro resins, acrylic resins, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, acrylic, cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose resins, phenolic plastics, polyvinyl acetate, rubber, coatings, and additive flame retardant and gun foam sealant. Flame retardant TCPP can also be used directly or made into emulsions for carpets, raincoats, fabric finishing, rubber products, etc. At the same time, Flame retardant TCPP can also be used as plasticizers and the raw material for the production of flame retardant BDP.

Recommendations

When used in polyurethane foam, unsaturated resins and phenolic resins at low temperature, flame retardant TCPP has low viscosity and is usually used in combination with antimony trioxide to improve flame retardant efficiency.
