What is disodium cocoyl glutamate?

Disodium cocoyl glutamate is a mild, natural plant anionic surfactant based on the amino acid glutamic acid, derived from coconut oil or palm kernel oil and fermented sugar. It is non-irritating to sensitive skin, and very friendly to environment. It is recognized as a natural ingredient by the Natural Product Association and certified by Ecocert, the first certification body to develop standards for natural and organic products. Disodium cocoyl glutamate comes in two forms: powder and aqueous solution. The powder form needs to be used after dissolving. The active substance content in the form of aqueous solution can reach about 29% and can be used directly.

What does disodium cocoyl glutamate do?

In oral cleaning products such as toothpaste, it is used in combination with lauryl glucoside to ensure that food residues and tartar are rinsed out when brushing.

Because disodium cocoyl glutamate is basically non-irritating to the skin, and it is a pure natural plant-based surfactant, it is widely used in baby care products.

Due to the excellent cleansing and foaming properties of disodium cocoyl glutamate on the skin, it is very suitable for use in shampoos, shower gels and facial cleansing products. It also prevents skin from drying out and keeps it moist.

Is disodium cocoyl glutamate natural/safe?

Disodium cocoyl glutamate's main ingredients are derived from Coconut Fruit, Corn, Potato, Wheat, Oil Palm Fruit, and it is recognized as a natural ingredient by the Natural Product Association and certified by Ecocert, the first certification body to develop standards for natural and organic products.
