Application

  1. Preprocessing

Due to the poor water absorption of polyester fibers and the low liquid carryover, it is best to perform an alkali reduction treatment before flame retardant finishing. This will not only improve the water absorption of polyester fabrics, but also ensure uniform liquid carryover. In addition, it can effectively remove some impurities on the surface of the fabric and prevent the presence of other additives, which affects the flame retardant effect.

Prescription: NaOH: 20-30g / l Pretreatment temperature: 95-100 ° C Pretreatment time: 30-60min

  1. Flame retardant finishing

The flame retardant concentration will be adjusted according to the fabric weight and liquid.

1) Prescription: FRC-1 polyester flame retardant: 150-180g / l; 10-20% sodium hydroxide: adjust pH to 6.5

2) Preparation of working bath

Add a small amount of soft water first, and then add the required amount of FRC-1, and stir and dissolve. Add 10-20% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution or ammonia water in a trickle or thin flow, check the pH at any time, stop adding when it reaches 6.5, and dilute to the specified weight (or volume) with water. The prepared working solution should be used as soon as possible, otherwise the pH value needs to be readjusted to 6.5 before use.

3) Process flow

Two dipping and two rolling (rolling liquid rate 60% -70%) → drying (100-120 ° C / 1-2min) → baking (190-195 ° C / 1-2min) → 45 ° C hot water washing → cold water washing → baking dry

Application considerations

(1) The above formula and process can be appropriately changed according to the fabric and site conditions.

(2) Necessary sample tests should be carried out when adding other additives.

(3) For some dyes, there may be slight effects. Pre-tests for color change should be performed before production.

(4) The baking temperature and time play a decisive role in the fixing rate of the flame retardant. Too low temperature will affect the washing resistance and flame retardant effect.

(5) According to the actual situation, you can consider omitting the water washing process.
