Description

Deoxyarbutin, also known as tetrahydropyranyloxy phenol, is a new type of cosmetic whitening active agent, mainly used in advanced whitening cosmetics. As a competitive tyrosinase inhibitor, it can effectively inhibit the activity of tyrosinase in the skin, reduce the formation of melanin, and at the same time break down the melanin that has been formed, overcome pigmentation and lighten the dark spots on the skin, it has a quick and long-lasting skin whitening effect. Its whitening effect is obviously better than other whitening actives, and it can show whitening and brightening effect with a small amount of use. Studies have shown that the whitening effect of deoxyarbutin is 350 times that of arbutin, 150 times that of kojic acid, and 10 times that of hydroquinone. Compared with the former, it is safer and more stable. It is non-toxic and irritating to the skin, and easily absorbed by the skin.

Precautions

Deoxyarbutin is insoluble in water, but discolors very easily in aqueous formulations. Even a small amount of water can turn red and then dark brown. Be careful when formulating
