Description

Chloroauric acid, also known as tetrachloroauric acid, gold tetrachloride acid, tetrachloroauric(III) acid, can soluble in water, ethanol and ether, slightly soluble in chloroform. Chloroauric acid is mainly used for gold plating, porcelain gold, special inks, photography, chemical reagents, medicines and red glass, as well as a variety of raw materials for gold compounds.

Production method

The pure gold is dissolved in aqua regia (or hydrochloric acid saturated with chlorine), and distilled and crystallized to obtain chloroauric acid.

Applications
