Description
The main component of HEPES buffer is 2-[4-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazinyl]ethanesulfonic acid. HEPES is a non-ionic amphoteric biological buffer, which has a good buffering capacity in the range of pH 7.2-7.4. HEPES is mainly used as a reaction buffer, pre-hybridization buffer, and hybridization buffer for separating and analyzing RNA nuclear components.
Advantage
The biggest advantage of HEPES is that it can maintain a relatively constant pH value during open culture or cell observation. Under this culture condition, the lid of the cell culture flask should be tightened to prevent the small amount of carbonate needed in the culture solution from being scattered. in the air.
